Craft is unquestionably an awesome restaurant in LA and NY, but sometimes these awesome restaurants are awesomely pricey and certainly can be tough to dine at often. Some of these restaurants offer a bar menu in addition to the menu offered in their dining rooms (check out Nobu and Jar). While waiting for a movie I popped into the bar at Craft and had a few bites from their bar menu. Just as you'd expect, the food is top notch and the service is up to par. Portion sizes were very generous and prices were pretty reasonable making this definitely a viable option for any occasion and not just limiting Craft to special occasions.

Have you been to Craft? What about the bar? What did you think? Do you have a little secret for dining at spendy spots on a not to spendy budget?
