Dwell on Design 2012

This was my 3rd year attending the Dwell on Design exhibition and I love going the years I've been able to make it. My husband won tickets from one of our favorite local stores, A+R. The exhibition showcases unique and modern finishes for the home and yard and everything in between. This year I really loved the Jonathan Adler bathroom lounge. Dwell on Design is always a cool way to spend a few hours and get inspired!

Minty Green and Glittering Gold

I've been crushing pretty hard lately and I just can't seem to shake this love affair I'm having. No, it's not Ryan Gossling, well...not JUST Ryan Gossling, but it's on mint green and gold...le sigh! When I went to The Cream I noticed a table at the BHLDN booth of mint and gold candles, shoes, and lovely trinkets that really sent me aflutter and I haven't been able to shake this combo. After wasting hours on Pinterest, it's clear that I'm not the only one craving some mint + gold. I love it for weddings, for the home, but really loving some of the outfits I'm seeing around this color combo!

Lace- This is not just for your grandma's wedding dress anymore!

Wide lace tape, similar at Yozo Craft
There is something so beautiful about lace that makes my heart go pitter patter. While lace can often be traditional, I've been seeing a lot of lace lately used in modern ways and I'm so excited about this. When I was shopping for my wedding dress, I knew that without question, it had to be lace. I love seeing lace used for casual skirts, washi tape, stationary, and modern applications at home- not just doilies your grandma may have made for you.

Popping up Orange

Amitra Singh
In the spirit of a P.O.C. (pop of color- borrowing this from Brad Goreski!)- I'm talking about orange today. After all, Tangerine Tango is Pantone's color of the year! Orange is such a warm, happy color and looks amazing paired with a crisp white, cobalt blue, or gold, and of course when trimmed in black like an Hermes box. Orange is the perfect color to transition from the cold to warmer months. Whether it's in an outfit, at a party, or at home, be creative and have fun with orange!

Do the polka--- dot!

Trend Hunter

First off- I spent some time over the weekend updating my blog template and I'd love to hear what you think! Do you like the new look??

Now let's get right down to it. We are talking about POLKA DOTS! Polka dots are so classic. No question. They are definitely having a modern moment and I really love it. I love a silk polka dot top under a blazer with jeans or a pencil skirt. I love a playful polka at home and I especially love the gold dots on my iphone case! Here's a round up some fabulous polka dots in all their polka dotted glory!
